Cigarette is a name that’s been synonymous with high-performance racing boats since Don Aronow started building custom sport boats and balled out fishermen specials in Miami in the 1960s. Since that time they’ve been behind multiple racing victories, off-shore racing boat development, and numerous industry awards for design and manufacturing. The current top model, the Cigarette 515, is a completely new design from Cigarette with a number of revolutionary features powered by a pair of mammoth racing engines from Mercury Racing.
Mercury Racing Dual Cal 1350/1550 Engines
Mercury Racing makes some of the wildest marine powerplants on the planet and their Dual Calibrated 1350/1550 series engines sit at the top rung of the marine performance engine ladder. The advanced sterndrive features a unique control system which enables the operator to switch engine power level via an electronic key fob. The Race key fob turns the engine into a purebred race machine – pumping out 1,550 hp on 112 AKI race fuel. The Pleasure key fob can also be selected when a more leisurely ride is in order, creating 1350 hp on 91 octane (98 RON) fuel.
Luxury and Speed
But the 515 isn’t just about performance as it’s packed with a host of features including a full suite of electronic sensing equipment, LCD screens, high backed carbon fiber seats, billet aluminum swim platform, 1,000-watt stereo, custom embroidery, soft deck flooring, LED lighting, and 278-gallon fuel capacity. Production will be limited to under 10 units at a cost of around $2 million apiece, but what better way to travel than in a Cigarette! Buckle up.
