National Safe Boating Week starts on May 21st and with that TNT Custom Marine wants to remind you of the importance of boat safety as summer begins.
Whether boating on lakes or oceans, there are protective measures to be taken ranging from environmental to machinery. We’d like to remind you of the importance of staying attentive while operating any kind of boat, especially on busy days when the water is heavily populated. While we encourage you to watch for other boaters, it is also important to be on the lookout for marine life and other obstacles underwater as well. Being safe does not have to diminish the quality of your boating experience, it can only enhance it by making sure all parties have the opportunity to remain safe.
Keeping life jackets on board for each individual on your boat is an easy but necessary safety item. Newer life jackets offer different levels of mobility and stability for users. The performance level is measured by newtons, spanning from low to high. The lower level number offers more mobility, comfort, and style with good flotation, and is intended for near-shore, or calm water activities. While higher-level number offers greater flotation, turning, and stability in the water, and for offshore activities.
