Johnny Tomlinson had a standout weekend in Sarasota, showcasing his impressive skills both as a throttleman and as a seasoned competitor. In the Class 1 race, Tomlinson and driver Carlos De Quesada in the 48-foot Victory, Morpheus 8, delivered their strongest performance of the season. Despite starting the race behind the dominant Team DeFalco, Tomlinson and De Quesada managed to settle in and gain time, overtaking df Young/Good Boy Vodka to secure second place. Tomlinson’s strategic adjustments along with skillful driving by De Quesada and a strong confidence within the team, contributed to our excellent finish, highlighting our readiness for the upcoming races and the world championships in Key West!
In the Stock 450 race, Tomlinson’s efforts were equally notable despite the challenging conditions. As part of the T/S Motorsports MTI team, Tomlinson and driver Taylor Scism battled through rough seas and mechanical difficulties. The race proved treacherous with numerous boats dropping out with mechanical issues. Though T/S Motorsports MTI ultimately had to withdraw, Tomlinson and Scism’s performance highlighted their resilience and ability to adapt under pressure. The weekend in Sarasota was a testament to teamwork, skill, and determination, setting the stage for a strong finish to the season.
