At 7 am this morning Stuart Hayim and John Tomlinson left the dock in the 42′ Ferrari-Maserati/Recovery Racing MTI, to try and beat the Round Long Island time record of 3 hours and 6 minutes. Not only did they break the record but they smashed it by crossing the finish line at 2 hours and 11 minutes. Even with rough conditions they were able to maintain 110mph on the ocean side leg of the run. The 42′ MTI is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350’s. Congratulations to JT and Stuart for setting a new world record.
