Earlier this month, the PBC team enjoyed the day with customers and friends raising money for H.E.R.O.E.S. Care in the 10th Annual Support Our Troops Poker Run. Performance has taken lead sponsorship of the event, and continues to support the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, Lake Race, and their signature Cigarette Rendezvous Fun Run — as just a taste of Performance Boat Center’s brand expansion.
The Superboat-class Performance Boat Center Jimmy John’s Freaky Fast Skater Powerboats 388 Catamaran took home the win at the Key West World Championship last year. For the 2016 season, Performance Boat Center brought back to Lake of the Ozarks big wins from the National and Florida Circuit, taking the Triple Crown in the SBI Superboat Class and the “Golden Eagle Award,” for being voted by peers as exhibiting exemplary professionalism in the sport of powerboat racing, for being well liked, and for working hard to win.
“Any time you can win it is invigorating,” Manire said. “We go hoping the boat stays together and safe… winning is a bonus. We have some talented guys at Performance Boat Center. They are organized, and they go prepared, and that makes all the difference.”
Right now immediate sights are set on Florida, for a non-SBI sanctioned showdown for bragging rights and charity at the Sarasota Powerboat 2017 Grand Prix Race, July 1-2.
“It was kind of a gentlemen’s agreement between Mark Waddington (owner of Performance Boat Center) and Mark Smalls (Cleveland Construction) that if they came to Lake Race we’ll go to Sarasota and support their charity event for children.”
