Tomlinson to Compete with Performance Boat Center at Clearwater National Championship

Keep an eye out for the #21 Performance Boat Center/ Jimmy Johns at the Clearwater National Championship on October 2, 2016! On race day, more than 30 super boat drivers will compete for the highly coveted National Championship titles in their respective classes. The super boats are equipped with F-16 jet canopies and 6,000-horsepower engines, racing at speeds of up to 180 mph in the Gulf of Mexico. The races are classified into three heats: Super Boat Stock, Super Boat Vee and Production 3 and 4 in heat one; Super Boat Unlimited and Super Boat Extreme in heat two; and Super Boat in heat three.

Performance Boat Center, Wake Effects, and Sunprint Prevail in Michigan City

A healthy mix of aggressive racing and consistent performances—with a few mechanical issues thrown in—were the main plotlines in today’s Super Boat International eighth annual Great Lakes Super Boat Grand Prix in Michigan City, Ind. The double points event, which attracted 18 teams to the venue on the shores of Lake Michigan about 60 miles south of Chicago—the skyline of which was visible from the race site—featured two multi-class races on the 4.2-mile oval course.

It was a stunning finale to a Class 1 season that has seen Bin Hendi and Al Zafeen win 75% of the races they have started and take the world title by a record 96 points over their nearest rivals. While Fazza and Welmax were having their own private battle at the front of the field, there were other bragging rights being fought over elsewhere. After entering mid-season, Tomlinson finishes with a 2nd place in the Middle Eastern Championships.
